“I’ve had a sentimental attachment to Chaps since I was first taken to the original location in Baltimore. So, it’s nice to have an outpost in Frederick, even if the new store doesn’t have quite the same dingy appeal. The smoky pit beef is still the same — sliced thin and served with an assorted miscellany of toppings and condiments. You can still find delicious corned beef and sharp, mayonnaisy signature horseradish sauce. Of course, you can always take a drive down to Charm City if you miss the original. But the Chaps in Frederick — one of the stand’s first franchised locations — is the next best thing.”
